What the drone sees
Real thermal captures from our DJI Matrice 4T. A warm subject reads as a bright signature against cool ground, and the onboard AI can lock onto and track a heat source automatically, day or night. From a resting animal to a warm engine or hot equipment on a job site, if it is holding heat, the sensor sees it. Every recovery is flown and read by an ITC certified Level I sUAS thermographer, trained to set the temperature span and palette that make a downed animal stand out from the forest floor.

A hard-hit deer that runs into thick cover at last light is the worst feeling in hunting. You know it went down. You just cannot find it before the coyotes and the heat do. A thermal drone changes that. We fly the woods from above, read the heat the animal is still throwing off, and walk you straight to it, often in minutes instead of a grid-search that ruins your night.
How a thermal recovery works
- You call, we launch. Give us the last known location, the direction of travel, and the time of the shot. We move fast because a fresh trail is an easy trail.
- We fly the heat. A downed deer holds body warmth for hours. Against cool ground it lights up on the thermal camera, even under brush, in a cutover, or in standing beans.
- We put you on it. Once we have a clear signature we guide you in on foot to the exact spot. No more circling the same thicket in the dark.
- Ethical recovery, every time. The goal is simple: honor the animal and the tag by getting it out of the field and into the cooler.

Why thermal beats a flashlight and a grid
A blood trail dries up. Rain washes it out. A gut-shot deer can travel farther than you think and bed down where you would never look on foot. From the air, a thermal sensor sees the whole search area at once and reads a heat signature that the naked eye and even a good tracking dog can miss in heavy cover.It is faster, it covers more ground, and it does not trample the sign while it searches.
Drone or tracking dog?
Both work, and they work differently. You can use both on the same search.
- A tracking dog follows scent. It works the blood trail on the ground and can push into cover where no camera can see. It needs a trail to follow.
- A thermal drone reads body heat from above. It does not need a blood trail, and it covers woods edges, cutovers and fields quickly. Dense evergreen canopy and warm afternoons, when the ground heats up, cut its range.
- Together they close the gap. The drone can narrow a big area fast and the dog can finish in cover the camera cannot see through. If a tracker is already on the way, call us anyway.

Lost pet recovery
A missing dog or cat that will not come to a voice at night is its own kind of gut-wrenching. The same heat-seeking drone that finds a downed deer can search for a lost pet, and it does it faster than a crowd on foot with flashlights. A warm animal stands out against cool ground, brush, and tree lines, so we can cover a big area quickly and put searchers where they need to be.
- Fast area coverage. We fly the ground around where your pet was last seen and read the whole search area from above instead of walking it row by row.
- Best after dark and in cool weather. That is when a pet's body heat separates most clearly from the ground on thermal.
- Honest about the limits. Heavy timber, dense cover, warm days, and a pet hiding under a porch or a car can all defeat a thermal search. We tell you up front what the drone can and cannot see before you spend a dime.

How does thermal drone deer recovery work?
A drone carrying a radiometric thermal camera flies a search pattern over the area where the animal was last seen. A downed deer holds body heat for hours and shows up as a bright signature against the cooler ground, even under brush or in standing crops, so we can pinpoint it and walk you straight to the recovery.
When is the best time to call?
The sooner the better, but thermal works best after dark and in cool conditions when the temperature gap between the animal and the ground is widest. A deer recovered the same night is far more likely to be found than one searched for the next afternoon.

Can you legally fly at night?
Yes. As an FAA Part 107 certified remote pilot we operate legally at night with the required lighting and authorizations. Night is when thermal recovery performs best.
Is your pilot trained in thermal imaging?
Yes. Our pilot holds the Level I sUAS Thermography certification from the Infrared Training Center (ITC), on top of FAA Part 107. That training covers how to set the thermal camera so a downed animal reads clearly against the ground, and how to tell a real heat signature from sun-warmed leaves, rocks, or stumps.
